Chevy Chase and Forest Hills

Community spirit is strong, and well-kept older homes are especially impressive.

Welcome to Chevy Chase & Forest Hills

Chevy Chase stands as a testament to in-town suburban charm and community pride. At the heart of Chevy Chase lies the bustling commercial strip along northern Connecticut Ave, where residents can easily access a diverse array of locally owned shops, inviting cafes, and a public library. Chevy Chase is characterized by its picturesque streets adorned with single-family homes and mature trees. Many of these homes boast yards and generous lots. There are three main parks in Chevy Chase: Rock Creek, Lafayette Pointer, and Livingston. Whether indulging in a round of golf, perfecting their serve on the tennis courts, or exploring scenic walking and equestrian trails, residents have ample opportunities to commune with nature and stay active. The parks also feature playgrounds, baseball fields, and dog parks.

The boundaries of Forest Hills are Broad Branch Road to the north, Rock Creek Park to the east, Tilden Street to the south and Connecticut Avenue to the west. The neighborhood offers a wide variety of detached homes many of which are quite large and/or on larger lots than found elsewhere in northwest Washington, D.C. The commercial strip along Connecticut Avenue is within walking distance of the neighborhood. Other points of interest include the Howard University School of Law, the Levine School of Music _ one of America’s leading community music schools, and the Hillwood Museum — the house and collection of Marjorie Merriweather Post.
